The secret Island

This is a travel blog on Mousuni island which is also known as the secret island or the Goa of Bengal. The island is situated at the bottom of West Bengal, India.Mousuni Island formed at the sea mouth of Muri Ganga River and river Chinai separates Mousuni Island from the main land. For going to Mousuni island one must book a camp before going because the camps can not be booked after reaching there.

In order to travel there book a ticket for Namkhana. Catch a Namkhana local train from Sealdah south section. It would take more or less three hours. 
               Then reserve a Toto car that would drop you to the Ferry Ghat. Before that call your camp over phone and ask which ferry ghat is nearest to the camp and book the Toto accordingly. As we have booked the camp "Tin tara" we reserved Toto for 10mile ghat. Then get down from the Toto and reach the island by boat.
                         In the camp they have there package for welcome drink, lunch, evening snacks dinner, Barbeque chicken,and breakfast for the next day. Visiting Jammu Island is out of the package and should be booked with extra money.  So we booked a Toto car after getting down from the boat,  had our breakfast from the market area (as the breakfast for the first day is not alloted by the camp) and then reached the camp.
One might stay at cottage or at tent. In "Tin Tara" camp tents are there for either two people, that is adventure tent or four people, that is family tent. Tent people have to use a common bathroom while cottages with rooms provided for two people provides attach bath. Now there are some formalities after reaching, like showing xeroxs or photos  of adhar or votar card and covid vaccine certificate. Then receive the welcome drink and enjoy! There is swing to enjoy, the camp has one of its gates opened towards the sea, so enjoy in the sea beach. In the lunch they provide rice, dal, fried fish, Prawn curry with potato and pointed guard, fish curry, chutney and papad. In the evening enjoy the sunset in the sea beach. Then when it's dark they would switch on fairy lights and switch on soothing musics and would offer puffed rice with potato pokora and if you order Barbeque then that is also offered. Tides at nights are drastically beautiful. In the dinner they would offer Chicken curry. Next day in the breakfast they would give luchi with potato curry and egg of chicken and if duck egg is ordered they will offer that too with the chicken's egg. And if someone wants to have the lunch and then depart, that too is possible.
