Kolkata Book Fair experience

This year Kolkata Book Fair is celebrating its 45th year. This year the theme is Bangladesh. It is taking place at Central Park Mela Ground at Salt Lake. The Book Fair has started since 28th of February 2022 and will continue till 13th of March 2022. The timing of the book fair is 12noon to 6:00pm in the evening. I went there yesterday, 6th March.There are several ways to reach the place but from the South Kolkata the easiest way to reach is through Bus. Grab a S9 Bus from 8B bus stand Jadavpur. The destination of the bus is Karunamoyee bus stand and the gate-9 of the Book Fair is facing the Karunamoyee bus stand.
 
A place of book worm it is. You can get hold of  little magazines or comics or novels or collection of poetry or short stories or fiction books, books on science, travelogue,books on cooking anything. One might also come across handcrafts, handmade jewelry, paintings, sketches. There has been made a temporary community hall. Food stalls are there too.

A stall close to my heart is Sentoor Cartoon (Stall-406 , near gate5).
 This stall offers paintings to decorate the beautiful walls your home, printed coffee mugs and definitely books portraying Sentoor Cartoon. One of the books that they gifted us is "Amader Netaji", the book is basically for children and it would definitely shape a kid. As I am a coffee mug lover I grabbed a mug beautifully exposing the old Kolkata with tram and Victoria Memorial.
Just look at the other side of the mug. A homage to the martyrs.

Also I have got hold of another children's literature "Habu Chandra Raja" from stall-221. 

Here, I am giving few details of the other stalls.
The Book Fair is taking place in a large area with scattered crowd with a countless number of stalls so it would take a good two hours to encounter more or less all the stalls. Here, I have tried to give a very little glimpse of the huge art world. So, don't wait just rush as early as possible and grab your favourite genre,only few days are left. It's really place for art souls.
